This is your once a year opportunity to join the Friends of Lakeshore State Park in their effort to help sustain and maintain our urban oasis on the lake.

Here are examples of costs for Lakeshore State Park in 2016:
Bus Funding for School Groups – $1000+
An established bus fund would allow many additional school groups to enjoy and learn
about the Great Lakes.

TeePee Split Rail Fence – $1000
A split-rail fence around the mowed picnic area would give a better sense of place and reduce
walking through the surrounding prairie.

Children’s Fishing Supplies – $750
Each year Lakeshore staff conducts from 10 to 20 fishing classes for children from 4K through high school. Many of these kids have never been fishing, much less caught a fish.

Mulch for New Paths and Gathering Circle – $500
This year Lakeshore State Park will develop an education area in the small prairie area inside the
trail circle. New paths will allow students to immerse themselves in the prairie setting.

Bench Supplies for Gathering Circle – $250
Surrounding the gathering circle are four areas that groups can plant and maintain native flowers
with the different themes of touch, scent, edible, and insect attraction.

There is no limit to the difference that your contribution can make to help keep our park beautiful and enhance the experience for our many visitors.

Please be a Friend of the Park and generously donate today. To donate please mail your check to:
