Where do you work and what makes your role awesome?
I’m the co-founder of Socialeads. We’re doing some fascinating stuff with building an AI platform that recognizes social speech and applying that principle to various markets. We have a top-notch team, and we’re making a real impact on the industry.
What is something that is missing from our community that you would love to see implemented?
I’d love to see more programs and ways to attract top tech talent from some of the major markets. Milwaukee has a lot to offer, and having that influx of external talent and new ideas could really boost the tech scene in Milwaukee.
What is one word that you would use to describe MKE?
Eclectic
What local restaurant is at the top of your list?
There are so many that we enjoy, but to name a few. Rare Steakhouse is a great date night place that Charity and I come down to for a night out. Impressive steaks and sides. Belair Cantina is always a fun and lively place to stop by with the family. Their tacos and flavors are on point. Zesti is a hidden gem in the Hartland area that we enjoy. A cozy and hip place for some great globally inspired food.
What is your favorite MKE tradition?
The variety of Summer festivals, and fitting in as much summer fun as possible while the weather is warm. Whether it’s German Fest, Irish Fest, A La Carte at the zoo – or one of the numerous music events going on, all exciting things to take the family to and make traditions out of.
What does your ideal MKE weekend look like?
Going back and forth between Irish Fest and A La Carte at the Zoo on that weekend in August. Great food and drinks and the weather is perfect. Something my wife, Charity, and the kiddos all look forward to. And the August weather is sounding spectacular about now.
What do you think is going to be a game changer for the city in the year of 2019?
The startup scene here has real potential to grow. It’s so great to see some of Milwaukee’s influential companies invest in entrepreneurs and the startup community as a whole.
That, and the Bucks are going to the finals.
