What inspired you to found NKE?
Inspiration is ongoing. What inspired me to help start NEWaukee is different now than it was then. At the core, the ability to make a change and connect people to place has always been a part of that inspiration.
How long have you been with the company?
All 8ish years.
How would you describe NEWaukee’s mission in your own words?
We live in a time where connectivity is at its highest but word of mouth is still the best way to engage people. By creating in-person experiences we change the way people connect to each other, their company and place.
What’s been your favorite event/initiative to create?
Tournavation. There is something about crowdsourcing civic challenges and having residents share their possible solutions in front of their peers and have that idea come to life and funded.
How do you see NEWaukee growing in the future?
In the talent engagement, retention and attraction space. Cities and companies are ramping up efforts to attract and retain people. NEWaukee has created a suite of dynamic services to help companies with their efforts that produce results.
What’s your favorite album/artist?
Beatles all of them. My music tastes wander all over the place. I’ve been listening to a lot of Delta Blues as of late.
If you were stuck on a desert island, what three items would you bring?
Moleskine, A bunch of pencils, pencil sharpener.
Where’s your favorite space to go/hang out/eat in Milwaukee? Hang out (Humboldt Park, Eat Odd Duck, Anmol)
